Who we are
Mind in Exeter & East Devon was founded in the 1940’s when soldiers coming back from war were experiencing what we would now see as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Then named Exeter and District Association for Mental Health we were an anti-stigma and campaigning organisation. Since this time we have evolved and continued to serve the people in the Exeter and East Devon region.
We are proud to be a local Mind. As a local Mind we do not receive any financial support from national Mind, however we do work closely together and are supported with their advice and guidance.
Today we provide services across Exeter and East Devon. To give you further insight into our charity you can click here to see what we do in the local community.

Mind in Exeter and East Devon is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. We are run by a team of volunteer trustees who meet monthly, usually on a Tuesday evening. Being a trustee of a charity is a very responsible role it is also a very rewarding role. The board oversees the vision of the organisation and ensures that it is meeting its financial and legal obligations. We currently have a highly skilled and friendly team of trustees who are passionate about their role with Mind in Exeter & East Devon.
